Solution:
Let the three parts be x, y, and z.
According to the question,
x + y + z = 2600 -------(1)
Interest on x at 4% = (4/100)x
Interest on y at 6% = (6/100)y
Interest on z at 8% = (8/100)z
As per the question, the interest on all three parts is equal.
So, (4/100)x = (6/100)y = (8/100)z
Solving the above equation, we get
y = (2/3)x and z = (1/2)x
Substituting the values of y and z in equation (1), we get
x + (2/3)x + (1/2)x = 2600
(11/6)x = 2600
x = 1418.18
Therefore, the three parts are
x = 1418.18
y = (2/3)x = 945.45
z = (1/2)x = 709.09
Verification:
Interest on x at 4% = (4/100) * 1418.18 = 56.73
Interest on y at 6% = (6/100) * 945.45 = 56.73
Interest on z at 8% = (8/100) * 709.09 = 56.73
Hence, we can see that the interest on all three parts is equal.
