SOS!! This is my first question at class 11th forum. I'm posting this question for the third time in hope to get an answer. I know that you guys are busy. But I desperately need some help. Please answer it. It is not necessary to use vector notation for discussing motion of objects in one-dimension. Why?

There is no need to use the vector notation for the velocity in One dimension motion, because as we know in(1D) one dimensional motion we have just one direction so it is not necessary to use an arrow to indicate it .
We also know that in two dimensional or three dimensional movements (2Dand3D)we have more than one direction(I.e., 1+) ,so,it is not necessary to use an narrow because we have to specify direction of velocity and acceleration so as to clearly specify the quantity.

No need to use vector because in 1D motion objects moves only in one direction i.e only in one axis either x-axis or y-axis or z-axis.

There is no need of vector notation to definw motion in 1-d ,vectors are usefull when we are dealing with 2-d or 3-d motion .suppose a body is performing 2-d motion, this means body has motion along 2 dimensions(or axis) may be x and y , y and z , x and z etc.while in 1 -d moiom there is only one dimension or axis for motion to be performed.suppose motion is along x-axis , then it can be either in+ve direction or in -ve direction.
