Statement 1: Triangles ADX and BAY are congruent.
Observing triangles ADX and BAY;
∠DAX = ∠ABY = 90°
AX = BY (Since X and Y are midpoints of sides of the square)
And DA = AB (Side of the square)
∴ Triangles ADX and BAY are congruent.
∴ Statement 1 is correct.

Statement 2: ∠DXA = ∠AYB
Since Triangles ADX and BAY are congruent;
∴ ∠DXA = ∠AYB
∴ Statement 2 is also correct.

Statement 3: DX is inclined at an angle 60° with AY
In triangle ADX;
∠ADX = 30°
∴ ∠AXD = 180 – 90 – 30 = 60°
∠BAY will be equal to ∠ADX (Angles of congruent triangles)
∴ ∠BAY = 30°
∴ ∠APX = 190 – 60 – 30 = 90°
∴ ∠APD = 180 - ∠APX = 90°
∴ DX is inclined at an angle 90° with AY.
∴ Statement 3 is not correct.

Statement 4: DX is not perpendicular to AY.
It is also not correct as we proved in earlier sentence that DX is perpendicular to AY.
∴ Statement 4 is not correct.
∴ Statement 1 and 2 are correct.
