The story is called the lost child because the story revolves around the child which is a symbol of childhood and is seen as the protagonist of the story . The child and his parents were not given names in the whole story because the child symbolises the childhood and parents are true viligance of strictness and paternity. the child was lost in the village fair when he was in his thoughts and when turned around, he found his parents nowhere and ran here and there to look got them but all was in vain.
Thus, the story is named as lost child because the author is trying to convey a message that despite of so many restrictions imposed on the child, the child felled only safe and loved under the caring and protective shelter of their parents . Moreover, all the desirable things which he earlier get attracted to were then immaterial to him and lost all the significance they earlier had for him after losing his parents.
