- They are usually smaller than asteroids, with most being no larger than a grain of sand.
- Meteoroids can come from asteroids or comets.
- When a meteoroid enters the Earth's atmosphere, it becomes a meteor or shooting star.
- Most meteors burn up in the atmosphere, but some larger ones can make it to the ground and become meteorites.

Differences:
- Asteroids are larger than meteoroids.
- Asteroids orbit the sun, while meteoroids are just floating in space.
- Asteroids are usually found in the asteroid belt, while meteoroids can come from anywhere in the solar system.
