The correct option is D. This is because the earthen pots have tiny pores in them. Through these tiny pores the air outside the pot comes in the contact with the water kept inside the pot. So when the air comes in contact, the process of evaporation takes place and causes cooling of water as water starts giving of heat to the air outside the pot. Due to this there is a COOLING EFFECT inside the pot and the temperature of water inside lowers and hence the water gets cooled down.

This is because earyhen pot has small pores in it.Due to ehich the water keeps on evaporating gtom the pot hence makes the pot cool.
