Given, magnifying power of a simple microscope = 6

We know that, magnifying power of a simple microscope is given by the formula:

Magnifying power = 1 + (f / u)

Where, f = focal length of the convex lens used
u = least distance of distinct vision

At normal adjustment, u = 25 cm = 0.25 m

Substituting the given values in the above formula, we get:

6 = 1 + (f / 0.25)

5 = f / 0.25

f = 5 x 0.25

f = 1.25 cm = 0.0125 m

Therefore, the focal length of the convex lens used is 0.0125 m or 0.05 cm (option C).
