Solution:

Given: X and Y are partners sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 3:2. Z is a new partner who gets 1/5th share.

Step 1: Calculate the share of Z

Let the total profit be P
Z's share = 1/5th of P
Z's share = P/5

Step 2: Calculate the share of X and Y after Z's admission

X and Y's total share = 3+2 = 5

After Z's admission, X and Y will share 4/5th of the profit.

X's share = 3/5th of 4/5th of P = 12/25th of P
Y's share = 2/5th of 4/5th of P = 8/25th of P

Step 3: Calculate the new profit sharing ratio

1. If Z acquires his share from X and Y in their profit sharing ratio

Z acquires 1/5th of X and Y's share in the ratio of 3:2.

Z's share = (3/5)*1/5 + (2/5)*1/5 = 1/5

New profit sharing ratio = X:Y:Z = 12:8:5

2. If Z acquires 3/20th from X and 1/20th from Y

Z's share = 1/5 = (3/20)*X + (1/20)*Y

Solving the equations, we get:

X's share = 12/23
Y's share = 8/23
Z's share = 3/23

New profit sharing ratio = X:Y:Z = 12:8:3

3. If Z acquires 1/10th from X and 1/10th from Y

Z's share = 1/5 = (1/10)*X + (1/10)*Y

Solving the equations, we get:

X's share = 6/11
Y's share = 4/11
Z's share = 1/11

New profit sharing ratio = X:Y:Z = 6:4:1

4. If Z acquires 1/20th from X and 3/20th from Y

Z's share = 1/5 = (1/20)*X + (3/20)*Y

Solving the equations, we get:

X's share = 9/17
Y's share = 6/17
Z's share = 2/17

New profit sharing ratio = X:Y:Z = 9:6:2

5. If Z acquires his share entirely from X

Z's share = 1/5 = (x/5)/(x+y)

Solving the equation, we get:

X's share = 3/7
Y's share = 2/7
Z's share = 2/7

New profit sharing ratio = X:Y:Z = 3:2:2

6. If Z acquires his share entirely from Y

Z's share = 1/5 = (y/5)/(x+y)

Solving the equation, we get:

X's share = 6/13
Y's share = 8
