Consider a ball thrown vertically upwards. Initially, it moves upward with a certain velocity, but as it reaches the highest point, its velocity decreases and eventually becomes zero. Then, due to the force of gravity, the ball starts moving downward, gaining speed with time. During this entire motion, the ball covers unequal distances in equal intervals of time. Therefore, the ball is said to be in non-uniform motion.
