¶¶ Features of primitive subsistence agriculture in India are:
(1) It is practised on small patches of land with the help of primitive tools.
(2) Tools which are used are basically traditional tools such as hoe, dao and digging stick.
(3 ) This type of farming depends upon Monsoons, natural fertility of soil and environmental suitability.
(4) When the soil fertility decreases, the farmers shift to another plot of land.
(5)Electricity and irrigation facilities are not generally available to them which results in low productivity.
