GIVEN:
Ratio of wages of A : B = 5 : 6
A can alone do a work in 30 days
CALCULATION:
Let B take ‘x’ days to do the work alone.
A’s work in 1 day = 1/30
B’s work in 1 day = 1/x
Now, the ratio of wages = Ratio of work efficiencies
⇒ 5 ∶ 6 = (1/30) ∶ (1/x)
⇒ 5/6 = x/30
⇒ x = 30 × 5/6 = 25
∴ B will take 25 days to do the work alone.
