Understanding Nurse Availability
To determine which nurses will work on Saturday, let's analyze the information given and the conditions regarding their availability.
Nurse Availability Summary:
- A and B: Cannot work together and are unavailable on Mondays and Thursdays.
- C: Works 7 days a week.
- D: Unavailable on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
- E and F: Always work together if possible; one has an off on Monday and the other on Wednesday.
- Triplet Rule: The same combination of nurses cannot work on two consecutive days.
Friday's Nurse Combination:
On Friday, the selected nurses are A, C, and D.
Implications for Saturday:
Using the triplet rule, we cannot have A, C, and D work on Saturday.
Evaluating Nurse Combinations for Saturday:
- C can work, as she is available every day.
- D cannot work, as she is not available on weekends.
- A is not a viable option since she was part of the Friday triplet.
Thus, the potential combinations for Saturday are narrowed down to C and the pair E and F.
Possible Combinations:
- The only viable option left for Saturday is C, E, and F. Since E and F work together and are available, this combination satisfies all conditions.
Conclusion:
Therefore, if A, C, and D work on Friday, the nurses working on Saturday will be C, E, and F.
Correct answer: (c) C, E, F.
