Quantity of Milk = 100 litres
Quantity of Water = 40 litres
FORMULA USED:
Difference in Proportion = Proportion of milk in mixture – Proportion of water in mixture
CALCULATION:
Total quantity of mixture = 100 + 40 = 140 litres
⇒ Proportion of milk in mixture = 100/140 = 5/7
⇒ Proportion of water in mixture = 40/140 = 2/7
∴ Difference in proportion = 5/7 – 2/7 = 3/7
