We know numbers from 1 to infinity. They are called natural numbers. When you take 0 to infinity it is called a whole number. An example would be:
A girl has 3 apples, her friend has no apples, and her sister has to loan HER friend 5 apples.
Here we need to use a number to tell that the sister needs to loan 5 apples to her friend. In this case we use a negative number, that is a number smaller than 0! -5 would be the perfect number here. On the right side of 0 the adjacent number to the number, example 1 and 2, here 2 is greater. However, in negative number the rightt adjacent number for example -3 and -2 -2 would be greater than -3.
