Calculation of Time in which the Scooter will come to Rest


Given Data:


  • Initial Speed (u) = 54 km/h

  • Final Speed (v) = 0 km/h (as the scooter will come to rest)

  • Time taken (t) = ?

  • Acceleration (a) = ?



Calculation of Acceleration:


  • Using the formula, v = u + at, we get:

  • 0 = 54 + a * t1 (when the scooter slows down from 54km/h to 18km/h)

  • a * t1 = -54

  • a = -54/t1

  • Similarly, using the formula, v = u + at, we get:

  • 18 = 0 + a * t2 (when the scooter slows down from 18km/h to 0km/h)

  • a * t2 = 18

  • a = 18/t2

  • Equating the two values of acceleration, we get:

  • -54/t1 = 18/t2

  • t2 = 3t1



Calculation of Time taken:
