2. Belief in God:
- Jainism is a non-theistic religion, as it does not believe in the existence of a creator God.
- Buddhism is also non-theistic, but some forms of Buddhism incorporate deities from other religions.

3. Ultimate Goal:
- Jainism aims to achieve liberation from the cycle of birth and death through the attainment of moksha.
- Buddhism seeks to attain enlightenment (nirvana) and end the cycle of suffering and rebirth.

4. Concept of Soul:
- Jainism believes in the existence of eternal souls (jivas) in all living beings, which are subject to liberation or bondage.
- Buddhism rejects the concept of an eternal soul and emphasizes the impermanence and interdependence of all phenomena.

5. Ahimsa:
- Jainism places a strong emphasis on non-violence (ahimsa) towards all living beings, which includes vegetarianism and strict ethical codes.
- While Buddhism also promotes non-violence, it does not impose the same strict restrictions on diet and lifestyle as Jainism.

6. Rituals and Worship:
- Jainism involves elaborate rituals, fasting, and temple worship.
- Buddhism emphasizes meditation, mindfulness, and the Eightfold Path as the means to achieve enlightenment.

7. Scriptures:
- Jainism relies on the teachings of 24 Tirthankaras and considers the Agamas as their main scriptures.
- Buddhism follows the Tripitaka (Three Baskets) as its primary scripture, which consists of the Vinaya Pitaka, Sutta Pitaka, and Abhidhamma Pitaka.

Similarities:

1. Origin:
- Both Jainism and Buddhism originated in ancient India during the 6th century BCE.

2. Rejection of Caste System:
- Both religions reject the hierarchical caste system prevalent in ancient Indian society, emphasizing equality and the potential for spiritual awakening in all individuals.

3. Rejection of Rituals:
- Jainism and Buddhism both emphasize the importance of personal effort and self-discipline over ritualistic practices for spiritual progress.

4. Teachings on Karma:
- Both religions believe in the concept of karma, where actions have consequences that affect future lives.

5. Non-violence:
- Both Jainism and Buddhism promote non-violence towards all living beings, although Jainism takes a more strict and comprehensive approach.
