Testing a Leaf for the Presence of Starch
Materials Needed:
- Iodine solution
- Alcohol
- Boiling water

- Test tube

- Beaker
- Dropper
Procedure:

- Boil the leaf in water for a few minutes to soften it.

- Place a few drops of iodine solution on the leaf.
- Wait for a few minutes and observe the leaf.

- If the leaf turns blue-black, it indicates the presence of starch.
- If the leaf remains brown, it means there is no starch present.
