Porifera, also known as sponges, are a phylum of aquatic invertebrates. They are multicellular organisms that lack true tissues and organs.
Incorrect statement: The digestive system in Porifera is incomplete.
Explanation: Sponges have a simple body plan with a central cavity called the spongocoel that is lined with choanocytes, specialized cells that create water currents to filter food particles. While sponges do have a digestive system, it is incomplete because they lack a true gut or anus. Instead, the filtered food particles are engulfed by the choanocytes and digested intracellularly. The waste is then expelled back out through the same opening that the water entered.
Correct statements:
- The name Porifera comes from the pores present on the surface of the sponges.
- A hard and protective skeleton made up of spongin or spicules supports the body.
- Development of embryo takes place through an intermediate larval stage.

Sir/ madam i think the answer of the question is wrong because in porifera incomplete digestive system is present ( i.e only one opening ) and they also show intracellular digestive system
