Change of state, e.g., freezing, melting, evaporation and condensation, is an Iso-thermal process.
If a liquid (pure substance) is heated at constant pressure, the temperature at which it boils is called saturation temperature. This temperature will remain constant during heating until all the liquid boils off. At this temperature, the liquid and the associated vapour at the same temperature are in equilibrium and are called saturated liquid and vapour, respectively. The saturation temperature of a pure substance is a function of pressure only. At atmospheric pressure, the saturation temperature is called the normal boiling point. Similarly, if the vapour of a pure substance is cooled at constant pressure, the temperature at which the condensation starts is called dew point temperature.
Similarly, when a solid is heated at constant pressure, it melts at a definite temperature called the melting point.

During phase transition, e.g., freezing, melting, evaporation and con...
Explanation:

Isothermal process means the process in which the temperature of a system remains constant throughout the process. During phase transition, the temperature remains constant as the energy is used to change the state of matter rather than increasing the temperature. Therefore, phase transition is an isothermal process.

During phase transition, the energy is used to break or form intermolecular bonds between molecules rather than increasing the temperature. For example, during melting, the energy is used to break the intermolecular bonds between solid molecules to convert them into liquid molecules. As a result, the temperature remains constant during the process.

In contrast, during adiabatic process, no heat energy is exchanged between the system and the surroundings. During isobaric process, the pressure of the system remains constant throughout the process. During isochoric process, the volume of the system remains constant throughout the process.

Therefore, the correct answer is option 'C' which states that during phase transition, e.g., freezing, melting, evaporation and condensation is an isothermal process.
