New Profit Sharing and Sacrificing Ratio (Part E)

Given Information:

  • M and N are two partners sharing profits in the ratio of 6:4.

  • They admit T into partnership as a partner from 1st April, 2012.

  • M gives 1/3rd of his share while N gives 1/10th from his share.

Calculation:

  • M's new share after giving 1/3rd of his share = 6/3 = 2

  • N's new share after giving 1/10th of his share = 4 - 4/10 = 3.6

  • Total new share = 2 + 3.6 + T's share

  • Let T's share be x

  • Then, the new profit sharing ratio = 2:3.6:x

Sacrificing Ratio:

  • Sacrificing ratio is the ratio in which the existing partners give up their share in favor of the new partner.

  • M's sacrificing ratio = 1/3 of his share = 2/3

  • N's sacrificing ratio = 1/10 of his share = 0.4

Conclusion:

  • New profit sharing ratio = 2:3.6:x

  • Sacrificing ratio = 2/3:0.4

Therefore, the new profit sharing ratio is 2:3.6:x and the sacrificing ratio is 2/3:0.4.
