Direction: In these questions, a question is given followed by inform...
Let the labelled price of article be ₹ x.
Then, from Statement II,
∴ x = ₹ 640
So, we can find the answer without the Statements I and III.
Now. '.wing Statements I and III, CP = ₹ 500
Profit = 28%
∴ Labelled price = 128% of 500 = ₹ 640
Thus, either Statement Il or Statements I and Ill together can be dispensed with.

Question: What is the labelled price of the article?

Statement I: Cost price of the article is ₹500.
Statement II: Selling price after offering 5% discount on the labelled price is ₹608.
Statement III: Profit earned would have been 28%, if no discount was offered.

To answer the question, we need to find the labelled price of the article which is not directly given in any of the statements. However, we can use the information from all three statements to find the labelled price.

If we assume that the labelled price is 'x', then we can use Statement I and Statement III to find the selling price without discount and then use Statement II to find the selling price with discount.

Using Statement I and III:
Profit % = (Profit/Cost Price) x 100
28% = (Profit/₹500) x 100
Profit = ₹140

Selling price without discount = Cost price + Profit
= ₹500 + ₹140
= ₹640

Using Statement II:
Selling price with discount = ₹608

Now, using the formula for discount:
Discount = (Discount %/100) x Labelled Price
5% = (5/100) x x
x = ₹640

Therefore, the labelled price of the article is ₹640.

Hence, we can dispense with either Statement II alone or Statements I and III together as both provide information that can be deduced from the other two statements. Therefore, the answer is option 'E'.
