To calculate the Ka of HX, we need to know the concentration of HX and its conjugate base (X-), as well as the concentration of H+ ions produced when HX dissociates in water.

HX + H2O ⇌ H3O+ + X-

The Ka expression for this reaction is:

Ka = [H3O+][X-] / [HX]

If the concentration of HX is 1 M and it dissociates completely in water, then the concentration of H+ ions produced will also be 1 M. Therefore, the Ka can be calculated as:

Ka = (1 x 1) / 1 = 1

However, if the concentration of HX is not given, we cannot calculate the Ka with just the information that its value is 10.
