Directions : In the following questions, A statement of Assertion (A)...
In balanced condition, if the galvanometer and the voltage source are interchanged, the balanced condition remains same since in both the cases R1R4 remains equal to R2R3 . The assertion is true. The balanced condition of Wheatstone bridge depends on the value of the resistances. R1R4 should be equal to R2R3. So, if the resistance values are changed, the balanced condition also gets disturbed. So, the reason is false.

Directions : In the following questions, A statement of Assertion (A)...
Assertion (A): In balanced condition, if the galvanometer and the voltage source is interchanged, the balanced condition remains same.

Reason (R): The balanced condition of Wheatstone bridge does not depend on the value of the resistances.

The correct answer is option 'C' - A is true but R is false.

Explanation:
The Wheatstone bridge is a circuit used to measure unknown resistance by balancing it with a known resistance. It consists of four resistors arranged in a diamond shape with a galvanometer connected between two junctions.

In a balanced condition, the potential difference across the galvanometer is zero, indicating that no current flows through it. This occurs when the ratio of resistances on one side of the bridge is equal to the ratio of resistances on the other side.

Interchanging the Galvanometer and Voltage Source:
If we interchange the galvanometer and the voltage source, the balanced condition will no longer be maintained. This is because the galvanometer measures the potential difference across the bridge, while the voltage source provides the potential difference.

When we interchange the two, the potential difference measured by the galvanometer will be different from the potential difference provided by the voltage source. As a result, the bridge will no longer be balanced and a current will flow through the galvanometer.

Dependence of Balanced Condition on Resistances:
The balanced condition of the Wheatstone bridge does depend on the values of the resistances. In order for the bridge to be balanced, the ratio of resistances on one side of the bridge must be equal to the ratio of resistances on the other side.

If the resistances are changed, the bridge will no longer be balanced. For example, if one of the resistors is increased, the ratio of resistances will change and the bridge will become unbalanced.

Therefore, both the assertion and the reason are false. The balanced condition of the Wheatstone bridge depends on the values of the resistances, and interchanging the galvanometer and the voltage source will result in an unbalanced condition.
