Calculate mean from the following data Income:- 10-20 10-30 10-40 10-5...
Calculation of Mean Income from Given Data

  • Step 1: Calculate the midpoint of each interval to get the actual income figure for each category. For example, the midpoint for the first interval (10-20) would be (10+20)/2 = 15.

  • Step 2: Multiply the midpoint of each interval by the number of employees in that category to get the total income for that category. For example, for the first interval, the total income would be 15 * 15 = 225.

  • Step 3: Add up the total income for each category to get the total income for all employees. For this data set, the total income would be 225 + 990 + 1890 + 4000 + 6000 = 13105.

  • Step 4: Divide the total income by the total number of employees to get the mean income. In this case, the mean income would be 13105/301 = $43.53.

Therefore, the mean income for the given data set is $43.53.

Calculate mean from the following data Income:- 10-20 10-30 10-40 10-5...
*first we will rearrange this table i.e.
Income(C.I.) :-10-20, 20-30 , 30-40 ,40-50,
50-60
no. of emp.(f):- 15 ,18(33-15),30(63-33),17(80-63),
20(100-80)
*now we will find the mid-value of C.I. (x):-
(10+20)2=15,(20+30)2=25,35,45,55
*now we will find (fx) i.e.(f)*(x):- 225,450,1050,765,1100
*now we will do the total of (f) and (fx) that is :-
total of f =15+18+30+17+20=100
total of fx =225+450+1050+765+1100=3590
mean= total of fx ÷ total of f = 3590÷100=35.90 Ans.
