What is meant by resource ?
Things which satisfy the need of human beings are called resources.
Example: Water, air, etc
Resources can be classified into two types
• Renewable resources
• Non - renewable resources
Renewable resources
Resources which are unlimited are called renewable resources. These resources replenish quickly.
Example: Water, Air
Non - renewable resources
Resources which are limited are called non - renewable resources. These resources takes plenty of years to replenish.
Example: Petroleum, Coal

Resources:- Any substance having utility in any way is a resource.

Natural resources:- Resources that are taken from nature are called Natural resources.
for example:- Rivers, lakes, air, soil, etc.
*Human-made resources:- Human made resources have not been provided to us by nature.
*Human beings have used their intelligence to manufacture them for their own need.
*for example :- Vehicles, buildings, roads, telephones, etc.
Human resources:-these include people who serve us in any way .
For example:-A teacher , doctor , carpenter, cobbler, etc.
On the basis of level of development, resource can be actual or potential.
Actual resource:- a natural resource is one which is used currently. we know their quantity.
Potential resource :- potential resource is one whose utility is not known as present or is not used despite having utility; instead, it may be useful at sometime in the future. it means that it has the potential to have utility, also it does not have any today.
On the basis of origin a resource can be biotic or abiotic .
Biotic resource:- a biotic resource is one that has life.
Abiotic resource:-and abiotic resource is the one non living.
Natural resources may also be classified as renewable and non-renewable resources.
Renewable resources:-are renewable resource can be used without any risk of its ending up. the exist in unlimited quantities.
Non-renewable resources:-non renewable resources they cannot be renowned, the use of non renewable resources needs to be control since the end up.
On the basis of distribution, a resource can be ubiquitous or localised.
Ubiquitous resource:-ubiquitous resources found everywhere.
Localised:- localised resource is however found in certain parts of the world only.
