Direction: In the given questions, two quantities are given, one as ‘Quantity I’ and another as ‘Quantity II’. You have to determine relationship between two quantities and choose the appropriate option:

The average age of four brothers W, X, Y and Z is 27 years. The ratio of age of W 2 years hence and age of X 4 years hence is 9: 7 respectively, and the ratio of age of Y 4 years before and age of Z 6 years before is 3: 2 respectively. Find the age of Y if X is 2 years older than Z.

Let, the age of W, X, Y and Z is represented as W, X, Y and Z
W + X + Y +Z = 108 years………1)
According to the question,
(W+2)/(X+4) = 9/7
7W = 9X + 22…………….2)
Also, (Y-4)/(Z-6)=3/2
2Y – 3Z = - 10 …………..3)
X – Z = 2…………4)
Using the above 4 equations, we get
Y = 28 years
Quantity II:
Let the age of five brothers A, B, C, D and E is A, B, C, D and E
So, according to the question,
A + B + C + D + E = 150
(A+5)/(B-7) = 7/5
5A = 7B - 74
Also, C/D=3/2
2C = 3D
Also, A – E = 2
And, E = D + 4
Using all the above equations, E = 28 years
Therefore, the age E = 28 years
So, Quantity I = Quantity II or No relation
Hence correct answer is option D.
