From (i) B won the 2nd pize in 100m. From (iii) F is the 3rd in high jump. A and E won the 3rd pize in the their respective events. I, G and C won the 1st place in their respective events. Since, there should 3 people in each position(as each person participated in a different event and won different positions among the top three), H and D should have won the second prize. Since, AD, I participated in the same event, no other person should be part of the event. Thus, A, D, I participated in shot put. From (iii) G did not participate in highjump ⇒ G participated in 100m race. Thus, C who won first must have participated in the highjump (as the 1st place winners of the other two events are known). Similarly, E must have participated in 100m as the 3rd place winners of the other two events are known.

From the table it can be seen that the exact positions of all nine students can be found out. Thus, D is the right choice.
