Total normal wages = Normal wages rate × Number of hours worked within 48 hours
Total normal wages = 1 × 48 = 48
Overtime Wages Calculation
The worker has worked for 52 hours in a week. Hence, the worker will receive overtime wages for the extra 4 hours worked.
Overtime wages rate = 1.5 per hour
Total overtime wages = Overtime wages rate × Number of overtime hours worked
Total overtime wages = 1.5 × 4 = 6

Total wages of the worker = Total normal wages + Total overtime wages
Total wages of the worker = 48 + 6 = 54
