In a certain school there is a grading system of results. A student has to appear for five subjects; viz. English, Maths, Science, History and Geography. Each subject carries 100 marks. The following grading system is followed while awarding a grade:
Let ‘S’ be the score of the student in a particular subject then,
Grade A: 90< />
Grade B: 80< />
Grade C: 70< />
Grade D: 60< />
Grade E: 50≤S≤60
The overall marks are calculated by summing up the marks in the individual subjects. Same grading methodology is applied while awarding the overall grade.
Note: All the students have scored more than or equal to 50 percent in all subjects.

If same grading methodology such as individual subject grading is applied for overall grades, then the range will be
Grade A: 450< />
Grade B: 400< />
GradeC: 350< />
Grade D: 300< />
Grade E: 250≤T≤300, where T is the sum of all the individual subjects
For Jack, let us assume maximum marks for each grade in different subjects
T = 100 + 100 + 80 + 100 = 380
This is invalid, since minimum marks scored in any subject is 50
Let us assume minimum marks for each grade in different subjects
T = 91 + 91 + 71 + 91 = 344
If his overall grade is C, then Jack’s score in history should be E(< />
