Let the two digits of a number be x and y
⇒ According to given condition, x – y = 4 ---- (I) or
y - x = 4 ----(II)
⇒ x + y = 12 -----(III)
⇒ Solving equation (I) and (II), we get
⇒ 2x = 16
⇒ x = 8, y = 4
Solving equation (II) and (III), we get
⇒ x = 4, y = 8
So, possible numbers are 48 and 84
Now, according to question, it was asked that what are the possible numbers
∴ To find the numbers we used both the statement so both the statement is sufficient.
Hence, the correct option is (E).
