In figure shown, the coefficient of friction between block A and the plane is 0.25. What will be the coefficient of friction between the belt and pulley for the impending motion of block A up the inclined plane as shown? (Answer up to two decimal places)
    Correct answer is '0.22'. Can you explain this answer?

    In figure shown, the coefficient of friction between block A and the ...
    Figure show all forces on the body .since block A is about to move up so friction force acts downward direction along the plane
    Now consider the equilibrium of block A.
    Resolving the forces normal to inclined plane.
    30 cosα = RA
    Resolving forces along the plane.
    or
    Here
    Thus
    = 28.5 N
    Now consider the pulley shown in Figure
    Angle of lap is θ = 1800 -(900- α )
    Here
    θ = 900 + 53.130 = 143.130
    θ = 143.130 x π/180
    = 25 rad
    Here block B induces impending motion to block A Hence the portion of string connected the B is subjected to the light tension T2 and that portion of the string connected to block A is subjected to slack tension T1 where T2> T1.
    Thus
    But from the equilibrium of block B we can say that T2=50
    Thus
    or
