How does light help us to see things ? Explain in three to four lines....
Ans.
Basically, the source of light emits light Ray's that reflect either diffusely or spectrally and falls into our eyes where the image is processed by the brain.
Example :
To make more sense, let's say you're in a room. The room is dark and has only a lit candle in front of a mirror and there's an apple near the mirror as well. The candle emits light radially. One of those rays of light hits the mirror and bounces back into your eyes.
In your eyes, the light is focused by your lens into a screen at the back of your eyes called retina. The image by the light is formed at the retina and the image is taken and processed by the brain with the help of the optical nerves. By the processing of the brain, you see the candle in the mirror.

How Light Helps Us See Things
Light plays a crucial role in our ability to see objects and the world around us. Here's how it helps us:
1. Reflection and Refraction
Light bounces off objects and enters our eyes, allowing us to see them. When light hits an object, it can be reflected or refracted. Reflection occurs when light bounces off a smooth surface, such as a mirror, while refraction happens when light passes through a transparent material like water or glass. These processes enable us to perceive the shape, color, and texture of objects.
2. Image Formation on the Retina
Once light enters our eyes, it is focused by the cornea and lens onto the retina at the back of the eye. The retina contains light-sensitive cells called photoreceptors, specifically rods and cones, which convert light into electrical signals. These signals are then transmitted to the brain via the optic nerve, where they are interpreted as images. This complex process allows us to see objects in our environment with clarity and detail.
3. Perception of Color and Depth
Light is composed of different wavelengths that correspond to colors on the visible spectrum. Our eyes can detect these varying wavelengths, allowing us to perceive a broad range of colors in our surroundings. Additionally, light helps us perceive depth and distance by providing visual cues such as shadows, highlights, and perspective. This depth perception is essential for navigating our environment and interacting with objects around us.
In conclusion, light is essential for our vision as it enables us to perceive the world in all its colors, shapes, and dimensions. Its interactions with objects and our eyes create the visual experiences we rely on to interact with our surroundings effectively.
