Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below:
Seven friends are distributing blankets on different days from Monday to Sunday. Everyone is distributing different number of blankets 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 29 and 31.
Seema distributed least number of blankets and she distributed on Friday.
Meena distributed 23 blankets just before Jaya, who did not distribute on Sunday. Difference between Jaya and Reeta’s blankets is 2, but none of them distributed highest number of blankets and Reeta is not the first and last to distribute. Pragya distributed after Meena but before Seeta and Maya, who did not distribute at last. The number of blankets distributed on Saturday is multiple of 5, but not by Reeta. The one who distributed on Thursday is distributing even no. of blankets. Sum of the blankets distributed by Reeta and Pragya is 53.

Number of Blankets: 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 29, 31

1. Seema distributed least number of blankets and she distributed on Friday.
2. Meena distributed 23 blankets just before Jaya, who did not distribute on Sunday.
3. Difference between Jaya and Reeta’s blankets is 2, but none of them distributed highest number of blankets and Reeta is not the first and last to distribute.
4. Pragya distributed after Meena but before Seeta and Maya, who did not distribute at last.
5. The number of blankets distributed on Saturday is a multiple of 5, but not by Reeta.
6. The one who distributed on Thursday is distributing an even number of blankets.
7. Sum of the blankets distributed by Reeta and Pragya is 53.

Solution:

From point 1, Seema distributed least number of blankets and she distributed on Friday. Hence, Seema distributed 21 blankets on Friday.

From point 2, Meena distributed 23 blankets just before Jaya, who did not distribute on Sunday. Hence, Meena distributed 23 blankets on Saturday and Jaya distributed 25 blankets on Monday.

From point 3, difference between Jaya and Reeta’s blankets is 2, but none of them distributed the highest number of blankets and Reeta is not the first and last to distribute. Therefore, Reeta distributed 27 blankets on Wednesday.

From point 4, Pragya distributed after Meena but before Seeta and Maya, who did not distribute at last. Therefore, Pragya distributed 29 blankets on Tuesday, Seeta distributed 31 blankets on Thursday, and Maya distributed 26 blankets on Sunday.

From point 5, the number of blankets distributed on Saturday is a multiple of 5, but not by Reeta. Therefore, Meena distributed 23 blankets on Saturday.

From point 6, the one who distributed on Thursday is distributing an even number of blankets. Therefore, Seeta distributed 31 blankets on Thursday.

From point 7, the sum of the blankets distributed by Reeta and Pragya is 53. Therefore, Reeta and Pragya distributed 27 and 26 blankets respectively.

The difference between the number of blankets distributed on Tuesday and Sunday is 29 - 26 = 3. Hence, the correct option is (b) Three.

Jaya/Reeta- Reeta/Jaya= 2,
So, there can be two cases (25 and 27) and (27,29).
Again, we have
  • Reeta is not the first and last to distribute.
  • Pragya distributed after Meena but before Seeta and Maya, who did not distribute at last.
  • The number of blankets distributed on Saturday is multiple of 5, but not by Reeta.
The one who distributed on Thursday is distributing even number of blankets.
