Read the following information carefully and answer the questions based on it.
The line graph given below, shows the total marks obtained by five students – P, Q, R, S, and T in an examination not necessarily in the same order consists of three section – QA, LR, and VARC.
Following facts are also known:
I. Maximum marks for each section is 20
II. Score of R, in three sections are three consecutive prime numbers
III. Score of Q is more than nine in each section, and are in arithmetic progression
IV. Sum of score of any two section of P is more than third section
V. Score in each section is distinct non – zero integer for each person
VI. Total score was least for either Q or T.
VII. If total score of all students arranged in descending order, then score of P is immediately after R.
Find the correct order, if total scores of all given five students arranged in Descending order?
  • a)
    S > T > R > P > Q
  • b)
    S > R > P > Q > T
  • c)
    S > Q > R > P > T
  • d)
    R > P > S > Q > T
  • e)
    None of these
Correct answer is option 'C'. Can you explain this answer?

Read the following information carefully and answer the questions bas...
Total scores was the least for either Q or T = 30
Score of Q is in Arithmetic Progression = a – d, a, a + d
Score of Q is more than 9 on each section, so
a – d + a + a + d = 3a
3a = 30
a = 10
So, score of Q is one section is 10, and in other section it must be less than 10 [because (a – d)], which is not possible for Q.
So, Score of Q can’t be 30
Score of Q should be multiple of 3 (3a), we have only one multiple of 3 after 30, out of five given scores.
So score of Q = 42
Score of T = 30
The scores of R is three consecutive prime numbers and P rank immediately after R when score of all persons are in descending order.
49
42 (Q)
41
31
30 (T)
Score of R can be 49, 42, and 31
If score of R is 49, then immediately after R the score of Q is 42, which is not possible.
So score of R is 41, then immediately after score of R the score of P is 31
So score of S is 49
Scores of R, in three sections are three consecutive prime numbers. So scores of R = 11 + 13 + 17 = 41
Score of Q be Arithmetic progression, and total score of Q = 42
So, score of Q in one of the section = 42/3 = 14
Score of Q in other two sections = 10 or 12 / 18 or 16
Consider score of Q = 10 + 14 + 18 = 42
Score of S = 49
Possible scores of S = 20 + 19 + 10 = 49 (not possible, 10 already taken)
Possible scores of S = 20 + 18 + 11 = 49 (not possible, 11 already taken)
Possible scores of S = 20 + 17 + 12 = 49 (not possible, 17 already taken)
Possible scores of S = 20 + 16 + 13 = 49 (not possible, 13 already taken)
This combination of values is not working.
Consider Score of Q = 12 + 14 + 16 = 42 (fixed)
So, Score of S = 10 + 19 + 20 = 49 (fixed)
Score of P = 7 + 9 + 15 = 31 (only possibility)
Score of T = 4 + 8 + 18 = 30 (only possibility)
