In the given questions, two quantities are given, one as ‘Quantity I’...
The efficiency of 10 women = Efficiency of 8 men
The efficiency of 5 women = Efficiency of 4 men
5W = 4M
The ratio of efficiencies:
M/W=5/4
Let, a man does 5 units and a woman does 4 units of work per day.
2 men and 5 women complete the work in 24 days.
∴ Total work = 24 × (2 × 5 + 5 × 4) = 720 units
Quantity I:
Time taken by 9 men to complete the work =720/9 × 5 = 16 days
Quantity II:
If we employ 5 women and 5 men in the work,
Time taken to complete the work = (720)/(5 × 4 + 5 × 5) = 16 days
If we employ more than 5 women in the work, the time taken to complete the work will be more than 16 days because according to the question, a woman is less efficient than a man.
∴ Time is taken to complete the work ≥ 16 days
Quantity II ≥ Quantity I.
