Arithmetic Mean of a Set of 10 Numbers

  • The arithmetic mean of a set of numbers is the sum of all the numbers divided by the total number of numbers.

  • In this case, the arithmetic mean of a set of 10 numbers is 20.

  • Therefore, the sum of all the 10 numbers is 10 x 20 = 200.



Transformation of Numbers

  • Each number in the set is first multiplied by 2 and then increased by 5.

  • Let x be a number in the set.

  • The new number after transformation is 2x + 5.



Mean of Transformed Numbers

  • To find the mean of the transformed numbers, we need to find the sum of all the transformed numbers and divide it by the total number of transformed numbers.

  • Let y be a transformed number.

  • The sum of all the transformed numbers is (2x1 + 5) + (2x2 + 5) + ... + (2x10 + 5) = 2(x1 + x2 + ... + x10) + 50.
