Study the following information carefully and answer the questions th...
Let the number of members in Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs be 7x and 6x respectively.
Let the number of members in Ministry of External Affairs be y.
Then, number of members in Ministry of Defence = y + 5
Ministry of Textiles = (4(y+5))/3
Ministry of Agriculture = (4(y+5))/3 + 26
Ministry of Home Affairs = (4(y+5))/3 + 37
Ministry of Railways = 41
So,
7x + 6x + y + y + 5 + 4 (y + 5) + 26 + 37 + 41 = 435
13x + 6y = 306 ........ (i)
7x – y = 59 ............. (ii)
On solving both the equations,
We get, x = 12 and y = 25
So, number of members in the 8 Ministries,
Ministry of Agriculture = 66
Ministry of Railways = 41
Ministry of Corporate Affairs = 72
Ministry of Defence = 30
Ministry of External Affairs = 25
Ministry of Finance = 84
Ministry of Textiles = 40
Ministry of Home Affairs = 77
(Ministry of Agriculture + Railways) – (Ministry of Corporate Affairs + External Affairs) = (66+41) – (72+25) = 10
