's junior, looked up from his own book with a start.

"What was that?" Tom asked, his eyes widening in curiosity.

Jack sighed and picked up the fallen book, dusting off the cover. "Just some boring research stuff. It's a bit too heavy for me."

Tom smirked. "You always did have a thing for complicated subjects. What's it about this time?"

"TXMNIAEEEPLR," Jack replied, pronouncing the acronym with some effort. "It stands for 'The Xeno-Morphological Nature and Interactions of Alien Ecosystems and Environments: Past, Present, and Future.'"

Tom's smirk turned into a full-blown grin. "Alien ecosystems? That sounds awesome! Why are you calling it boring?"

Jack rolled his eyes. "Well, it's not as exciting as it sounds. It's all about the scientific study of how different alien species interact with their environments, their adaptations, and evolution. It's fascinating, but the book is just so dry and technical."

Tom chuckled. "Sounds like you need a break. Let's go outside and enjoy the summer afternoon. I'm sure we can find something more interesting to do than reading about alien ecosystems."

Jack smiled gratefully. "You're right, Tom. I need some fresh air. Let's head to the beach and maybe explore a bit. Who knows, maybe we'll even stumble upon some real-life alien creatures."

As the cousins made their way out of the library, leaving the dull book behind, they couldn't help but feel excited about the possibilities that awaited them on Lone Island.
