Admission to IIT without Clearing JEE Exam

While the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the primary mode of admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), there are a few alternative paths that can lead to admission without clearing the JEE exam. 2. Olympiad Route:
Another way to secure admission to IITs without clearing the JEE exam is by excelling in prestigious national and international Olympiads. The Indian National Olympiad (INO) is conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) and serves as a stepping stone for the International Olympiad in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Astronomy. Top performers in these Olympiads may be eligible for direct admission to IITs.

3. Direct Admission for Graduates:
IITs also offer direct admission to graduates through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Candidates who have completed their Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology and have a valid GATE score are eligible to apply for admission to the Master's and Ph.D. programs at IITs. However, this route is only applicable for postgraduate admission and not for undergraduate programs.

4. DASA Scheme for NRIs and PIOs:
In addition to foreign nationals, the DASA scheme also provides opportunities for NRIs and PIOs to seek admission to IITs. The admissions are based on SAT Subject Test scores, similar to the Direct Admission for Foreign Nationals. However, the number of seats available under this scheme is limited.
