22/7 is considered as an approx value for pie. If we write 22/7 in decimal form it is same to the value for pie for upto only a few digits . It is not the same as pie.

The value of pie was estimated by some earlier philosophers as 3.14........ which was then took as p/q form as circumference/diameter i.e c/d which is 22/7 which is in p/q form and q is not equal to 0.
