Marks Weightage for Different Categories in UGC NET

To ensure equal opportunities for candidates belonging to different categories, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has established certain guidelines for the allocation of marks weightage in the National Eligibility Test (NET) for various categories including General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS. General Category:
- The General category includes candidates who do not fall under any reserved category.
- No relaxation is provided in terms of marks weightage.

OBC (Other Backward Classes) Category:
- Candidates belonging to the OBC category are provided with a certain relaxation in the qualifying marks.
- As per the UGC guidelines, OBC candidates are required to secure a minimum of 27% marks (i.e., 54 marks out of 200) to qualify for the NET examination.

SC (Scheduled Caste) Category:
- SC candidates are also provided with a relaxation in the qualifying marks.
- As per UGC guidelines, SC candidates are required to secure a minimum of 25% marks (i.e., 50 marks out of 200) to qualify for the NET examination.

ST (Scheduled Tribe) Category:
- ST candidates are provided with a relaxation in the qualifying marks similar to SC candidates.
- As per UGC guidelines, ST candidates are required to secure a minimum of 25% marks (i.e., 50 marks out of 200) to qualify for the NET examination.

EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Category:
- EWS candidates are also provided with a certain relaxation in the qualifying marks.
- As per the UGC guidelines, EWS candidates are required to secure a minimum of 25% marks (i.e., 50 marks out of 200) to qualify for the NET examination.
