Weightage Calculation for NDA Exam Marks:

The National Defence Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to select candidates for entry into the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The weightage of marks for the NDA exam is calculated based on the following factors:

Written Exam:
The written exam for the NDA consists of two papers - Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The weightage of marks for each paper is as follows:

1. Mathematics:
- Total marks: 300
- Number of questions: Approximately 120
- Each question carries: 2.5 marks
- Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks assigned to the question

2. General Ability Test (GAT):
- Total marks: 600
- Number of questions: Approximately 150
- English section: 200 marks
- General Knowledge section: 400 marks
- Each question carries: 4 marks
- Negative marking: 1/3rd of the marks assigned to the question

SSB Interview:
After clearing the written exam, candidates are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which consists of a series of tests, including psychological tests, group discussions, and personal interviews. The weightage of marks for the SSB interview is as follows:

1. Psychological tests: 100 marks
2. Group discussions: 50 marks
3. Personal interview: 50 marks

Final Selection:
The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in both the written exam and the SSB interview. The weightage of marks for the final selection is as follows:

1. Written Exam: 900 marks (Mathematics - 300 marks, GAT - 600 marks)
2. SSB Interview: 200 marks (Psychological tests - 100 marks, Group discussions - 50 marks, Personal interview - 50 marks)

The total weightage of marks for the NDA exam is 1200 (900 from the written exam and 200 from the SSB interview). The final merit list is prepared based on the candidates' performance in both the written exam and the SSB interview, with higher weightage given to the written exam.

It is important to note that the weightage of marks may vary slightly from year to year, depending on the discretion of the UPSC. Therefore, candidates should refer to the official UPSC notification for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the weightage calculation for the NDA exam.
