Different between plant cell and animal cell?
Plant cells have cell wall surrounding the cell membrane and animal cells only have a cell membrane.Plant cells contain chloroplasts which are used for photosynthesis, while, animal cells does not have chloroplasts so cannot conduct photosynthesis.(from here the question might come that why animals cannot conduct photosynthesis?)plant cells have a large vacuole( it's a fluid sack), compared to an animal cell.Thank you

Differences Between Plant Cells and Animal Cells
Plant and animal cells are the fundamental units of life in plants and animals, respectively, but they exhibit distinct structural and functional differences.
Cell Wall
- Plant cells possess a rigid cell wall made of cellulose, providing structural support and protection.
- Animal cells lack a cell wall; instead, they have a flexible plasma membrane that allows for various shapes and movement.
Shape
- Plant cells typically have a fixed, rectangular shape due to their rigid cell walls.
- Animal cells are often irregular in shape, which allows for a wider variety of cell types and functions.
Chloroplasts
- Plant cells contain chloroplasts, the site of photosynthesis, enabling them to convert sunlight into energy.
- Animal cells do not have chloroplasts and rely on consuming organic materials for energy.
Vacuoles
- Plant cells usually have a large central vacuole that stores nutrients, waste products, and helps maintain turgor pressure.
- Animal cells contain smaller vacuoles, primarily for storage and transport, but do not play a significant role in maintaining cell structure.
Energy Storage
- Plants store energy primarily as starch.
- Animals store energy as glycogen.
Centrioles
- Plant cells typically lack centrioles, structures involved in cell division.
- Animal cells contain centrioles that help organize the mitotic spindle during cell division.
In summary, while both plant and animal cells share some common features, their differences are crucial for their respective functions in living organisms. Understanding these distinctions is fundamental in the study of biology.
