The process of depositing one metal over another metal with the help of electricity is known as electroplating.MATERIALS REQUIRED:iron object, copper object,copper wire , crystals of copper sulphate, sulphuric acid, switch,water, battery, beaker.PROCEDURE: dissolve the crystals of copper sulphate in pure water to prepare concentrated solution in a beaker and add a few drops of dilute sulphuric acid to it. tie one end of a connecting copper wire to the iron object to be coated with copper.connect it's other end to the negative terminal of a battery.suspend the tied iron object into copper sulphate.suspend the copper plate into copper sulphate From positive end of the battery through a switch. care should be taken that the iron object and plate don't touch each other and are a little away from one another.put the switch on for about 10 minutes.switch off the circuit and take the iron object out. therefore the iron object is coated with copper. If u want to coat any other metal u may change materials.
