From statement I:
Box contains either cards having numbers from 1 to 29 or neither 1 nor 29.
Probability that number on picked card is 1 = Probability that number on picked card is 29 = (1/15) or
Probability that number on picked card is 1 = Probability that number on picked card is 29 = 0.
From statement II:
Let 'n' be first odd natural number and next natural numbers be n + 2, n + 4 ............................so on 15th natural odd number is 'n + 28'.
(n + n + 2 + n + 4............................... n + 28) = 225
15n + 210 = 225
n =1.
So numbers on cards are 1,3,..........29.
So required probability = (1/15).
So, data in statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question while data in statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
