Which one of the following is most difficult to fabricate in Integrate...
Capacitor is most difficult to fabricate in Integrated Circuits.
Fabrication of semiconductor device on the IC chip is more reliable because most of the semi-conductor devices are made-up of by silicon (Si) Examples: Diode, Transistor, FET, MOSFET, CMOS.
In Integrated Circuits fabrication it is difficult to fabricate capacitors due to the following reasons:
  • A large area is required on the chip for a large value of the capacitor (in μF ).
  • Leakage problem because dielectric is present between the plates of the capacitor.
  • The speed of operation is reduced because the capacitor is an energy storage device.
