  • The corrosion of steel in reinforced concrete structures can be assessed by non-destructive testing using the principle of linear polarization resistance technique. This method consists of applying to the metal very small voltage variations above and below its corrosion potential. On this narrow range of voltage corrosion potential and current response obtained is linear.
  • An Ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) test is an in-situ, non-destructive test to check the quality of concrete and natural rocks. In this test, the strength and quality of concrete or rock are assessed by measuring the velocity of an ultrasonic pulse passing through a concrete structure or natural rock formation.
  • Acoustic emission (AE) testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique that detects and monitors the release of ultrasonic stress waves from localized sources when a material deforms under stress. These ultrasonic waves are not introduced from an external source, as they are in ultrasonic testing, but rather originate from within the material being inspected.
  • Computed Tomography (CT) is used to explore the Microstructure of Materials.
