Through Type of Bridge
Through type of bridge is a type of bridge where the vehicles pass through the superstructure of the bridge. This type of bridge is commonly used for highways where the vehicles travel inside the superstructure of the bridge.

Explanation

Vehicles inside the superstructure: In through type of bridge, the vehicles travel inside the superstructure of the bridge. This means that the bridge is designed in such a way that the vehicles are able to pass through the superstructure rather than below or above it.

Advantages:
- Through type of bridge allows for better traffic flow as vehicles travel inside the superstructure.
- It provides added protection to the vehicles as they are enclosed within the structure of the bridge.
- This type of bridge is aesthetically pleasing as it creates a seamless and continuous flow for vehicles.

Disadvantages:
- Through type of bridge may require more complex design and construction compared to other types of bridges.
- Maintenance and inspection of the bridge may be more challenging due to the enclosed structure.
In conclusion, through type of bridge is called as such because vehicles pass through the superstructure of the bridge. It is commonly used for highways to provide a continuous flow for vehicles traveling on the road.

Through type bridge
  • In the case of through Type Bridge, the floor is placed at the level of the lower chord of truss Type Bridge and the top chord is braced laterally.
