Given,
Total population of a town = 2800
Number of males = 720+ Number of females
Let the number of females and males be x and (x+720) respectively.
According to the question,
x+x+720 = 2800
⇒ 2x+720 = 2800
⇒ 2x = 2080
⇒ x = 1040
Number of males = (1040+720) = 1760
Now, New number of males after 40% reduction = 1760×60% = 1056
New number of females after 20% increment = 1040×120% = 1248
New population of town = (1056+1248) = 2304
∴ New population of town is 2304.

Given Data:
Total population of the town = 2800
Number of males = 720 more than number of females

Calculations:
Let the number of females be x.
Then, number of males = x + 720

After the changes:
Number of males = 0.6(x + 720) = 0.6x + 432
Number of females = 1.2x

Total population = Number of males + Number of females
2800 = 0.6x + 432 + 1.2x
2800 = 1.8x + 432
1.8x = 2800 - 432
1.8x = 2368
x = 2368 / 1.8
x = 1315

Number of males = 1315 + 720 = 2035
Number of females = 1315

New population of the town = Number of males + Number of females
New population = 2035 + 1315 = 3350

Therefore, the new population of the town is 3350.

Final Answer:
c) 3350
