Why is it correct to say that female mosquitoes are not the real cause...
Malaria is caused by a one-celled parasite ....called a Plasmodium....Female Anopheles mosquitoes pick up the parasite from infected people when they bite to obtain blood needed to nurture their eggs....Female mosquitoes need blood.... in order to produce eggs... for reproduction....Inside the mosquito the parasites develop and reproduce...When the mosquito bites again, the parasites mix with its saliva.... and pass into the blood of the person being bitten...Male mosquitoes only feed on sugars fruits nectars....and don't bite animals or humans.... Thus, they don't play a role in the blood-based transmission of the parasite that causes malaria...
